About
Us
Aaron and Pamela Thorson have been married for thirty-five
years
and have five children: Jennifer (shown at right with her
husband
Scott and daughters Rebekah and Vanessa), Erik, Kevin,
Daniel,
and Grace. Until the summer of 1997, they were pretty
much like
any other family, busy with their own lives. In July of
1997,
Kevin was nineteen years old. While on a teen missions' trip
in Canada
with a church group, Kevin fell while attempting a
backflip
and sustained a high cervical injury. He was instantly
paralyzed
from the neck down and quit breathing.
He had to be placed on a
ventilator, and the family was
advised to
be prepared for his death. But God graciously
intervened,
and eventually Kevin was able to come home to live.
Although
he was initially called "another Christopher Reeve"
by his
doctor, Kevin regained enough neurological return to
be weaned
off the vent during all his waking hours and learned
to walk
again with help.
He is still mostly disabled,
however, and his family has banded
together
to be his caregivers. They understand the issues facing
individuals
with devastating injuries, the strain it places on their
families,
and the challenge it is to their faith.
Today Kevin and his brothers
have opened a studio
specializing
in 3d graphics, computer animation, photography, and
music.
Pamela has written a book, recently released, which
details
their story.
Our Creed
We
believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be the inspired Word of God.
We believe
in one God, manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe
in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His sinless
life,
and His death on the cross for all humanity.
We believe
that He died for our sins, was buried, was resurrected
on
the third day, and ascended to heaven.
We believe
in the work of the Holy Spirit as our Comforter,
Revealer
of Christ, and the Distributer of gifts.
We believe
that every born-again believer is a member of the
Body
of Christ, His Church.
We live in
the expectation of Christ's soon physical return to earth,
in the hope of the resurrection of the living and the dead,
and in the eternal existence with God of all believers in the
kingdom of our Lord.
